Haagen-Dazs Five

By Dessert Darling ·   April 11th, 2010

I'm not sure we needed this study to reveal that eating ice-cream indeed makes us happier, but there we have it, scientific Proof!  Perhaps this is why I'm always smiling. I used to eat ice-cream everyday of my life (though, I've since switched to chocolate.. for the antioxidants, of course ;).

There really isn't such a thing as bad ice-cream to me. By virtue of being ice-cream, you're already my favorite dessert.  That said, there's no denying the varying degrees of quality out there and I think we all know Haagen-Dazs ranks top notch.

By law, a company is allowed to whip 50% air into their ice-cream. Haagen-Dazs, however, whips very little air into their rich product, which results in a more concentrated and dense experience.  Sometimes I crave this decadence while other times I yearn for a lighter, fluffier affair.

I'm awarding 5 cherries to Haagen-Dazs new FIVE line, not only for their years in excellence, but also, for creating a product that has five, simple, and natural ingredients.  I love being able to pronounce everything that I put into my body!

I took Biological Psychology, Social Psychology in college and the scientific proof would most likely yield the same results as if the participants were given sugar, since that is the ‘drug’ that increases the pleasure center of the brain therefore affecting it’s other functions.
And as for MRI’s being routinely used to study ppl, the high amount of magnetic fields these participants are exposed to just so scientists can get their grants to continue making a living is borderline along ethics to continue doing such studies since we don’t know the long term effects of continued magnetic exposure except for a few.
For those of you who have never done a study, the ethics manual is rather large so by not knowing the damage being done doesn’t make it right to inflict unknown damage to the bodies of other individuals.
But hey, I love ice cream and will try this flavor out.

I just noticed it really has coffee in it which probably means caffiene. The only stimulants I take are Ginseng and Vitamin B supplements from my Centrum Performance vitamins.
