The doctor’s orders were “No sugar” for a few days while I kick this bug. Since we all know that’s not happening, I thought I’d at least try healthier desserts by going “Raw” (organic, vegan, and no refined ingredients.)
I selected “Carrot Collective” Carrot-Cake bites, Chocolate Truffles, and Pumpkin Spice “Cheesecake” from Whole Foods.
The Carrot Cake bites were really moist and refreshing, while the Chocolate Truffles were rich, dense and sported a slight peppery kick.
Finally, the Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake tasted more strongly of Pumpkin Spice than cheesecake, and had a silky wet consistency.
Overall, “Raw” desserts can be really tasty and somewhat refreshing with all those Live enzymes and energy! That said, they’ll never have quite the same impact as a real butter and sugar. Also, since they’re loaded with nut fats, they can sit heavy in your stomach for hours afterward if you indulge in too many bites at once.
Cheers!
